The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They feature motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top choice), they use smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors They are also adept in removing dog hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work, or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, but it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and offer more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. Its obstacle detection was top-notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum cleaner vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and automatic vacuum cleaner combination features a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba unit than the boxy models from the rivals. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has 100% in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, Best Robot Hoover a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing with a bit more noise and a little more cost this is a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot hoover and mop utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its automatic vacuum and mop has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home depending on the degree of dirt they tend to be.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for models with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your house by using the app or voice commands. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Also the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that is washable.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we have test. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
