The S1 Pro has excellent navigation and mapping capabilities, due to the internal dToF system. It can keep an unobtrusive appearance while providing excellent detection of objects. It is able to drive close to walls and avoid steps without falling. It also automatically raises the mop when driving on short-pile carpets. However, it did struggle a little when encountering longer-pile carpets and several large, thick piles of dried-on debris.

Like most robots that are available, the S1 Pro comes ready to take off from the box, and requires only an initial mapping session to get it used to your home. The map will then be displayed in the app and you can add or merge rooms as needed. You can also set virtual boundaries and no-go or no-mop zones if there's something you don't want the robot to get into.

The S1 Pro is a great option for homes that have both types of flooring, because it can mop and vacuum.
