Armor

Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be used on armor and weapon items. They increase the effectiveness of the item that they're connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kit to salvage upgrades from the items.

The amount of damage that an armored Item upgrader kit or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. A piece of armor upgraded to the highest upgrade level will boost the damage it absorbs. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it must be more heavy.

There are many different kinds of armor upgrade available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Certain upgrades grant armor an additional amount of health points while others make it more powerful and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item can get will be indicated by the name of the upgrade, as illustrated in the table below.

Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, as shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades require charges to use. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges for these upgrades change daily or Item Upgrader Kit never expire dependent on the upgrade.

It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The boost in defense typically isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of specific aspects of an weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain firearms also have upgrades that enhance their inherent capabilities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).

Most upgrades for weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade for applying. They can be obtained by finishing side quests, killing a certain number of bosses or monsters, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.

Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee of a set number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars are required to complete it. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade Item your weapon and sets has changed a bit. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain amount of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would reset.

Most players will want to make the most of upgrades to weapons they most often use to make sure they are able to level up faster. Jewels

Jewels are placed in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. Jewelry crafting is the process of making them, in which you combine gemstones with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gem, the better its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or through finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The Jeweler can boost the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. Based on the level of the jewel it can provide different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

All tiers of jewels can be made at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a high enough level to be able to get them. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with a jewel of the same type without damaging it. However you can only swap out one jewel in an item upgrader kit of equipment once.

It is common to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. In addition to improving performance, the diamonds create a surface that is harder than metal, which means that repeated friction with pivots doesn't cause damage as easily.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the look of your weapons and shields. These glyphs offer a small boost and can be freely traded, but they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as traits or aegis can't be exchanged, and can only be found by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets are a great way to provide your hero with a variety of small, but useful, benefits. They can be acquired starting in the starter areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and through performing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinkets a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which grants a small, but valuable boost to movement speed and evasion. Then, they can get amulets, rings, and necklaces in the same way to how a player can acquire armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment comes with an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any device. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets also grant additional buffs and skills that remain active even when the character is not in combat. This allows the hero to be more effective when not active, and can also help to compensate for the absence of a solid team or the absence of any slots in the talent tree that normally are filled with the hero's ideal stats.

As a rule trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace in the near future. Also, consider items with desirable stats that are less significant than the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item level upgrade. It is better to upgrade one important stat than two less important ones.

In the beginning of the game, players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their yellow trinket into a red one, while top and mid players will usually opt for a green or pink ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices can affect a hero's ability to control the map.

In addition to the items listed above, players will also discover other trinkets in form trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story, like the main quest of a chapter or destroying a boss. They can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
