Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into weapons, armor, trinkets and tools for gathering, offering an added bonus or effect while the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or obtained from missions and chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item upgrader kit in the game, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the material or component needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are similar to jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be used in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding an Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The Upgrade Item costs increase with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This will enable the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available is contingent on the Best item upgrader's base. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level, and in which slot it is in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.

To measure the height of a structure, engineers will employ an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point like a benchmark, or upgrade item the ground's elevation. This process is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to an extremely high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an item's strength, damage, or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item upgrades. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you could receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a great or a bad thing, depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may be equipped with a special bonus that increases the power of the item by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added into the usual affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the greater the chance of receiving the bonus of a different kind.

The game also has a number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is a good way to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling is a way to get a more powerful character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and attain higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in various ways. They can have various dimensions, contain no elements at all or contain just one element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They also aid in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways such as size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense values or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the item's stats much compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have many armor pieces or weapons.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique procs that are useful for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to par with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. This will display the item's attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will provide a significant increase in their performance. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
