Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one go, without having to switch between devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual can get you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.

For example, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will reveal exactly what the robot done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. It's not like the model from last year, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power which allows it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot cleaner passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture such as table and chair legs. The robot vacuum with mop can also reach under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice feature that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike some other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or separately. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, robots that vacuum and mop see mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with many additional features that set it apart. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are many options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list but it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
