What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Costs

There are some costs related to upgrades of items. The first is the cost of performing the upgrade. This price is contingent on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it receives and is often expensive. It is also costly to upgrade an item to a better tier (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The second is the price of the materials needed to upgrade. The items used are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and up) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable through completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The quantity of these items needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. Depending on the size of the upgrade, it could take up to 8 hours. The base stats of an upgraded item are calculated based upon its new ilvl and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other important stats. In certain cases an upgrade may grant additional perks. These perks are listed in a list.

A Blacksmith Blessing or Best item upgrader an upgraded version thereof can be used to increase the chances of an upgrade being successful.
